What experience does Atlantis The Palm, Dubai have with helping to plan and execute lavish weddings?

Atlantis has been handling Destination Weddings right from its inception in 2008 which is nearly 14 plus years in existence. Our Nationalities for Weddings span from India to Pakistan to Middle East Regional to Africa to UK and beyond!

At Atlantis we do small bespoke weddings starting from 50 guests and can go up to 2,500 guests based on the region the couple hails from and the budgets they have for such events. Atlantis, The Palm has staff and capabilities to provide quality and creative food and beverage offerings to 1,000+ guests, most unlike many resorts.

We have hundreds of chefs, whose skills and talents we draw upon to provide a tailored experience for each couple and no ask is too much. Our chef’s specialties include 100’s of destinations and they can offer the most authentic of dining experiences. In addition, the team is extremely well practiced in serving large numbers of guests, resulting in seamless service. For example, at an event recently for 3,500 guests, 200 waiters were trained for 120 hours in silver service to work alongside 80 chefs to serve a three-course seated dinner, including 3,000 placements of starters in just seven minutes. Really no job is too small or big for us!

What variety of event spaces are available to brides and grooms?

Atlantis is not just one destination; it’s a collection of seven individual venues, each with its own character. Whatever the number of guests, we have the perfect venue to match each requirement. The hotel has 13 dedicated indoor event spaces, which include a combination of three ballrooms, one boardroom, and one Majlis as well as an expansive wedding tent. This equates to 4,326 sqm of event space (excluding the outdoor areas), with the Asateer tent adding an additional 2,100 sqm of event space.

The Royal Beach and Asateer Tent serve as magnificent backdrops for a pre-wedding dinner. Asateer, on the beach, provides a spectacular venue for weddings, offering a fusion of the exotic and opulent, with marble floors, water features and impressive views of the Dubai skyline. For those dreaming of a grand reception, there is the opulent Atlantis Ballroom, which accommodates up to 2,500 guests cocktail style, or 1,200 seated, boasting their own private entrances for the ultimate in exclusive luxury.

Couples looking for a more intimate setting for smaller functions such as a wedding breakfast can choose from a variety of smaller venues, both indoor and outdoor, including the elegant Silk and Spice Ballroom, which seats up to 250 and the picture-perfect Palm Grove for 100 guests in addition to the Zero Entry Pool-side and WHITE Beach.

We understand you’ve recently refurbished of the Atlantis, The Palm ballroom, what changes did you make?

We’re taken this time to try and make the most of the opportunity and relook at our offering. With this in mind, we have embarked upon a multi-million-dollar refurbishment of our conference centre and ballroom which is now complete. We’ve given the space a brand-new neutral and fresh look and feel to suit all styles of weddings and events, this includes;

• New wall coverings and ceiling paint.
• New installation of chandeliers, wall sconces and carpets.
• Supply and installation of fabric to sliding partitions to Atlantis Ballroom & Spice & Silk Ballrooms. 
• Modification to existing doors within the Atlantis Ballroom, Pre-Function, Spice & Silk Ballrooms.
• Embossed Full Height Gold Panels to existing main ballroom door.
• Increasing the size of the main entrance door to the Atlantis Ballroom. 

Can you tell us more about your Outdoor spaces available for winter weddings?

Celebrate under the twinkling Dubai sky with the majestic Atlantis as the backdrop. Catering from 100 to up to 800 guests, Atlantis’ outdoor venues provide the perfect stage for a romantic beachside wedding with stunning views of the sea. Whatever couples desire, Atlantis will create memories to last a lifetime.

Weddings can be hosted by anyone around the resort including the resort’s Zero Entry Pool, on the beach, at WHITE Beach club, in Aquaventure Waterpark…the opportunities are endless.

What are some unique attributes that your property offers as a wedding venue? 

Atlantis is mainly so special because of the ability for couples to combine exciting and unique activities and venues with the traditions of a wedding ceremony. From a barefoot ceremony on the beach to a unique wedding breakfast underwater in The Lost Chambers Aquarium. We’ve also had guests hire Nobu terrace and Wavehouse entertainment center and even take over our award-winning waterpark, Aquaventure, for private use so their guests can have a completely private experience. Guests have also chosen to host small and intimate pre-wedding events in The Royal Bridge Suite which connects the two towers of the Atlantis and enjoys an unparalleled view of The Palm and the Persian Gulf.

Couples also have access to Atlantis, The Palm’s unique Signature Suites which prove to be the perfect location for smaller ceremonies or for those that require an intimate celebration venue for close family and friends. From the Underwater Suite to The Royal Bride Suite, one of the biggest hotel suites in the world, any ceremony at Atlantis is an unforgettable one.

Atlantis is also the perfect canvas to capture wedding photos that dreams are made of. From stunning beachside photos with the backdrop of the glittering Dubai skyline, to a tropical garden scene with the resort itself as a backdrop, or in front of the breathtaking Ambassador Lagoon, there are endless outdoor and indoor options to capture the perfect memories of the big day.

We’re also very proud of our unique “statement cakes” that would range from 5m lavish tiered masterpieces to dramatic creations, hanging from the ceiling, our pasty teams’ imagination knows no bounds.

What has been the most extravagant wedding request you’ve ever had?

The biggest wedding, we have ever hosted was from Mumbai. This was 500 rooms and over 1,000 guests flying in from India in private jets and planes. This by far was the largest Destination Wedding we have welcomed. A team of four Wedding Planners managed this wedding and each hailed from Continents such as Australia to Asia to Europe and Africa as the theme of the wedding was ‘Continents of the World’. Each of the four ceremonies at the wedding was based on the theme of the continent and included their folklore, cuisine, dress codes, and entertainment. All the events took place at Atlantis and each venue was transformed into a continent based on the event type and them. Aquaventure Waterpark was transformed into the Australian continent and guests were served their food and drinks in the water. Our Atlantis Ballroom and poolside were transformed into an African National park with traditional food, barbeques, tree- houses, and costumes for guests. Finally came the Amazing Asia, whereby our Asateer Marquee and New Year’s Deck were converted into one of the traditional Indian Rajasthan Palaces. Completely enthralling…all of the food and beverage and décor/ambiance was oozing with Royalty. It was true grandeur the whole setting was absolutely surreal!

We also held one intimate ceremony ‘underwater’, inside The Lost Chambers Aquarium. Upon arrival guests were greeted by mermaids and the food was served on floating buffet stations. All of the entertainment was also viewed from the windows and was underwater, including synchronized swimmers and ‘mermaids.

Do you have a range of rooms available for those couples arraging a destination wedding?

Yes! We have 1,549 rooms and suites, including 7 signature suites making it the biggest resort on The Palm Island and one of the biggest in Dubai. Over 1,400 of the 1,539 guestrooms and suites in the Royal Towers boast inter-connecting doors, providing ideal accommodation for families and of course weddings.

What health and safety protocols are currently in place?

We’ve adapted our capacities in line with the DHA regulations and this has been adjusted within our pricing. Our current H&S protocol for events include the following;

• Frequent sanitation of meeting rooms, organizers office, green room, conference space, event spaces etc.
• Minimum 2m Social Distancing to be applied with floor markings where guest congregate/queue (1 Person per 4sqm gross).
• Maximum of 10 ppl per table. Buffet allowed – 2m social distancing while queuing and no self-service allowed.
• Sanitisers to be provisioned for inside venues.

What is your current booking flexibility?

• Contracted terms and deposit schedules relaxed.
• 90 days prior clients can change the date with no fee.
• Clients permitted to reduce numbers up to 45 days from the event.
• 100% refund of the event subject to a pandemic (travel ban, second wave lockdown).
• Flexible Deposit schedules . 10% small down payment. Next is not until 90 days prior to arrival.

What is the next step for couples interested in booking their wedding at Atlantis, The Palm?

Guests who are considering Atlantis as their wedding destination will also be invited to a private appointment in the Atlantis Wedding Lounge. In the comfort of the lounge, over light snacks and a selection of beverages, the couple can discuss their requirements with our wedding specialists. To help them with ideas, the specialist will show images and videos of previous weddings, as well as floorplans of past events and the range of menus on offer. This private, luxurious space also provides a location for couples to meet our renowned chefs, the in-house florist and venue designers to help bring their dreams to life.
