Multi-centre Winter Honeymoons | Lynne Haslop Travel Counsellors

When it comes to your honeymoon and can’t quite decide where to go, a multi-centre honeymoon is the perfect choice. It allows you to combine several different experiences into one trip, so you get the chance to recharge your batteries through some beach-bound relaxation, as well as exploring an enchanting destination.

There’s plenty of choice for multi-centres and the lovely Lynne from Travel Counsellors has brought together some excellent choices that blend contrasting experiences.

Kenya and Seychelles

Kenya is blessed with an incredible selection of national parks and wildlife reserves that all full of exotic creatures and picturesque landscapes. With such superb wildlife spotting opportunities available, this poses the difficult question: which will you choose to visit? Will you see the majestic lions of Masai Mara National Reserve or the beautiful flamingos of Lake Nakuru National Park? Take in the awe-inspiring views of Kilimanjaro whilst surrounded by elephants from Amboseli National Park or see the critically endangered black rhinos of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy?

After all the thrills of Kenyan safari, you’ll be ready to drop, so heading to a collection of islands with the world’s most beautiful beaches is the logical next step. Stroll along the powdery white sand beaches in the baking sun and let the inviting waters of the Indian Ocean lap over your feet. Here you can explore another world of amazing creatures if you put on your snorkelling gear and go under the surface of the ocean exploring the coral reefs that surround the atolls of the Seychelles.

San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas

The south-west coast of the USA boasts mild weather all year round and the winter months are no exception. Warmed by the waters of the Pacific, California’s coastal cities remain at a pleasant average of 13°C throughout winter making it the ideal place to head to for some mild winter weather.

Begin your trip in San Francisco, with a visit to Fisherman’s Wharf to say hello to the resident sea lions and pedal a bike over the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Ride the city’s cable cars, which form part of the last manually operated cable car system in the world, before taking a boat out to visit the infamous Alcatraz and learn of the island prison’s controversial past.

Next, head south to Los Angeles for a mix of glitz, glamour and beautiful beaches. This incredible city is the ideal place to soak up some winter sun as you admire the celebrity homes in the Hollywood Hills and wander the scenic boardwalks in one of the distinguished beachfront areas such as Venice Beach or Santa Monica.

To round off your trip, prepare for exhilaration in the Nevada desert as you travel to Las Vegas. The City of Lights really justifies its title as the entertainment capital of the world with its bustling strip overflowing with fun and excitement, packed calendar of out-of-this-world shows, decadent pool parties, luxury accommodation and barmy casino floors. One thing is for certain; in Las Vegas, there’s never a dull moment.

Bangkok and Koh Samui

Bangkok is a destination that ignites all the senses and a day spent there goes at 100 miles an hour, from exploring the city’s incredible temples and immersing yourself in the Buddhist culture to tasting the finest street food in the world to partying the night away on Khao San Road.

Following the frantic pace of Bangkok, you’ll be due some relaxation in the sun. Lying in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Samui, the country’s second-largest island, is a destination rich with natural beauty. Exploring this island paradise will make you feel a world away from the densely-packed streets of Bangkok.

Koh Samui’s beaches are globally renowned for their fine white sands and alluring, crystal clear waters. Bordered by coconut-bearing trees and offering peace and relaxation, the beaches of Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut and Lipa Noi offer perfect isolation throughout the day. At any of these beaches, you’ll be able to get your hair braided, enjoy a massage, chow down on succulent spiced meat cooked over hot coals and get to know the locals over a cool refreshing Chang.
