All of you matters to him
The way you are, what you feel, what’s important to you, what work you want to do, how you wish to grow old… all of it is important to him. Not just the way you look on his arm.

He is proud of you the way you are
He’s happy to be with you the way you are – fussy, messy, independent, high maintenance, intelligent, evolved, gregarious, introvert, extrovert… whatever. He doesn’t ‘suggest’ ways to ‘improve’ you or doesn’t want you to change your ways to better ‘fit’ his family.

He inspires your confidence
He instils in you a trust that makes you share things with him – be they your family’s crazy secrets, your financial status, your plans for the future, or your insecurities about yourself. If you know he won’t sit in judgement or spill the beans, he’s for keeps.

He makes you want to share space with him
… and this is despite the fact that you are usually very possessive about your own physical space and belongings, and feel stifled at the thought of someone sharing those.

He wants to know your family
When his interest goes beyond you to include your family and your friends, and likewise, he would like you to get to know his – then that’s a sure step in the right direction of a future together.

He listens patiently
He doesn’t get annoyed when you want to rant… about something trivial like a bad hair day or something serious like favouritism at the workplace. He understands that it’s important for you to talk and talk and talk about it to get it out of your system.

You don’t feel the imperative need to be always gainfully occupied when you are together. You look forward to the quiet moments when nobody speaks a word and yet it’s time well spent together.
