Today we take a look at four workout regimes you can expect at a bridal boot camp. This is just a general outline and if you have any serious health problems that could hinder your workout performance, it’s important to let your trainer know…

aerobics

Cardio: It’s believed that a single cardio session of 30 minutes pumps extra blood into the brain and enables the body to increase its overall efficiency as well. Cardio workouts also enable the brain to produce chemicals that improve other functions such as memory and problem solving. This could be because exercise itself causes structural changes to the brain as a whole. Cardio undoubtedly works as a super effective stress buster too, improves the attention span and allows you to learn at a faster pace as well. No wonder cardio workouts are a must for so many celebrities all over the world. Plus, with its fat busting and weight loss enhancing properties, expect to get training in a mix of cardio workout routines including aerobics at the bridal boot camp.

Weight Training: Yes, you will be pumping iron just like a pro but it’s also likely that you will be given plenty of workouts that enable you to build muscle simply by using your own body weight. Here’s the good news – consistent resistance training can increase your body metabolism by up to 15%. Weight training helps you to build stronger flexible muscles and tendons that can withstand more stress, making your body tough from within. You’ll be thankful for your weight resistance training as you get older because these workouts help to prevent osteoporosis which is a serious health concern that is quite common. In short, consistent weight training prepares your body for the years that lie ahead.

Yoga: There’s a reason why yoga has such a rich history behind it and the prime reason is that it has been found to be one of the best ways to keep fit physically and mentally. Yoga is not simply about meditation although meditating and controlling your mind is given due importance irrespective of which form of yoga is practised. However, as a yoga expert put it ‘Yoga massages the internal organs and makes you truly well from within’. Besides, it improves your muscles, helps to reduce weight, protects from injuries, improves flexibility and also reduces weight. Unlike cardio, the many asanas or exercises prescribed in yoga need to be done slowly for maximum benefit. Other than a mat, you don’t need any machine or accessory to do yoga at the bridal boot camp.

Pilates: If you’ve wondered how Hollywood celeb moms get back into shape just months after delivering a baby, the secret they don’t tell you about is likely to be Pilates. Just like yoga, Pilates can be practised by seniors as well and the benefits it offers are many. Pilates fans swear by an improvement in posture, better flexibility, decrease in upper body pain and of course – sculpted abs! Try a few pilates exercises at the bridal boot camp and you will feel your muscles stretching like never before. The moves which focus on strengthening the core area of the body are gentle yet highly effective and can be incorporated into a brisk workout regime without any problems. Yes, world class athletes swear by it too!
