This gorgeous fabric is defo having a moment! Velvet is typically associated with the winter months thanks to its luxurious, rich feel and if you’re after a fab Black Tie vibe for your Big Day, this will work beautifully. This warm fabric looks super glamorous and if you’re looking to snap up some velvet gowns for your own squad, your’re sure to be spoilt for choice.

The Meghan Markle effect continues! High necks and halters are still a massive trend for brides and bridesmaids alike we’re happy to report. You’ll find one in just about any colour you’re after with the likes of Dessy, Sorella Vita and True Bridesmaids rocking at least one piece in their collection.

The asymmetrical style has always featured in both bridal and bridesmaid collections but they’re back with a bang for 2020 bridesmaids. Again, the ripples from Meghan Markle’s Big Day look can still be felt with minimalist dresses proving popular. But this year, they’re getting a bit of an update with some statement detailing. If you’re looking to create a sharp, clean look for your girls, a modern architectural style dress might be what you’re after. Think clean lines, structured fabrics and a minimalist aesthetic but with some edgy detailing like sharp shoulders to create a fun, arty statement.

We love a bit of glitz so are very happy to report there’ll be sequins and shimmer a plenty for 2020 bridesmaids. Embellished dresses will come in many forms from glamorous threading to full on shimmery sequins and glittery fabrics. As always, the winter months will see a surge in popularity but embellished numbers will be equally at home in spring and summer too.

Another big trend next year will be fabric choice. Yep, slinky fabrics like satin and silk can be found all over 2020 bridesmaid collections. Brides after a minimal look for their ladies with a gorgeous sheen will love this option. They can have a bit of bad rep as being unflattering as they can be on the clingy side but there’s so many different silhouettes you can try out for size including wraps, A-Line numbers and all manner of necklines like asymmetrical and off the shoulder.

The cowl neckline was massive back in the 90s and now it’s making its mark on the 2020 wedding scene! Be prepared to see plenty of these fun necklines in bridal stores around the country next year.
