Last week a host of event industry professionals from all over the region gathered at The London Project, Bluewater Island, to celebrate the launch of MEWA (The Middle East Wedding Alliance) powered by ILEA (The International Live Events Association).
MEWA is the first of its kind consortium of wedding professionals in the region, and is up of founding board members; Arun Bablani and Rahul Kumar (Vivaah Weddings), Emma Pope (EMAAR Hospitality Group), Vishal Nagdev (Event FAQs), Mallika Singh (Fête Events), Sameer Rahman (Flair Event Services), Sherin Al Alami (La Clé) and Zainab Alsalih (Carousel Events), and our very own General Manager Nikki Rutherford (weddingsonline.ae), who are supported by Paul Berger (Arena Group Middle East), current President of ILEA.
The Alliance has been created under the aegis of ILEA and will represent the wedding industry of the Middle East. It was created out of a need to regulate the industry, whilst also increasing engagement and opportunities. As well as access to exclusive networking events, MEWA will also offer mentorships, consultations and educational and training sessions, with its aim to become the voice of the wedding industry community in the Middle East.
Membership to MEWA is open to all registered wedding related businesses and freelancers in the Middle East. To find out how you can join MEWA, and grow your business through networking and knowledge sharing, contact Kholoud Ali, Chapter Manager of ILEA, at kholoud@ilea-me.com.
