All You Need to Know About Pippa Middleton's Engagement

We were super excited to hear Pippa Middleton got engaged – if she looked that amazing in a bridesmaid dress can you only imagine, what she’s going to pull out of the bag for her own Big Day?! It’s been five whole years since sister Kate Middleton, now Duchess of Cambridge married Prince William and had us all swooning with envy at both her own stunning Alexander McQueen wedding dress and sister Pippa’s fabulous figure hugging silk creation. And now it’s Pippa turn to don the Big white, with the wedding tipped to happen next year.

Hedge Fund millionaire James Matthews popped the question last month (July 19th) on a romantic weekend away in the Lake District in the UK. James reportedly asked Pippa’s dad for permission before going down on one knee. “James is a traditionalist and very much wanted to do things properly,” according to a friend of the couple via the Daily Mail. “That meant getting the consent of his future father in law.” The ring is sight to behold – a stunning art deco style asscher radiant diamond ring that set him back 200,000.

A statement released by the pair announced their exciting news: “Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr James Matthews are delighted to announce they became engaged on Sunday 17th July and plan to marry next year”. The couple have just been together under a year but briefed dated back in 2012 and seem to be a perfect match as both are keen skiers, with a massive love of sport and the great outdoors.

Of course everyone is hedging bets on who’s going to be bridesmaid (sources reckon Kate may prefer to keep out of the spotlight on this occasion) but we’re hoping there might be an appearance from Princess Charlotte and Prince George as quite possibly the cutest flower girl and ring bearer ever.
