One of the best and most exciting ways to usher in the New Year with friends and family members is by taking your marriage vows on this day. Getting married on New Year’s Eve is a fabulous way to celebrate this new chapter in your relationship and you can bet that yours will be one wedding ceremony that nobody will forget! However, it will require plenty of planning on your part so here are some tips to help you get started!
The best spots in towns are likely to be reserved for private parties so if there is a specific hotel, club, hall or venue where you would like your ceremony to be held, it’s best to book well in advance. You may be required to settle the payment in full as well, but at least the wedding venue will be one concern off your list. Do keep in mind however that booking rates are likely to be higher on New Year’s Eve in comparison to the rest of the year.
It is New Year’s after all and it’s likely that your wedding guests may make alternate plans as well. The best way to ensure that all your near and dear ones are present on your special day is to inform them about the wedding well in advance. Sending out ‘Save the Date’ cards gives guests time to plan and apply for leave (if required) and to plan their holiday schedule accordingly. Do not forget to mention any dress codes, themes or other information they may need to know!
Flowers are likely to be more expensive at this time of the year and it’s best to hire a florist who can deliver freshly cut flowers at the wedding venue on the day of the wedding itself. If you’d like to cut costs, then a good way to decorate the venue is with streamers, balloons and other glittering festoons. Add party hats, confetti and party pops for extra fun! It’s a great way to add festive cheer and of course to ring in the New Year too.
Wedding guest favours are a wonderful way of showing your loved ones how much their presence meant to you. Since it is New Year as well, why not consider giving personalised stationery, calendars for the new year ahead or a basket of goodies? Little thank you notes that double up as New Year greeting cards will be greatly appreciated too.
