Couples searching for sensational views of the desert in all its natural glory are in luck! Whether you’re planning an intimate event with just a small number of family and friends or going all out with a large scale celebration you’ll fall in love with the amazing views at Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa. Set amongst expansive sand dunes, Bab Al Shams translated from Arabic means “gateway to the sun” certainly lives up to its name! Let’s take a tour of this gorgeous venue…
Designed to look like a rural Arabian village this award winning hotel is an oasis of tropical gardens, low rise buildings, beautiful stonework, fountains and pathways leading to secluded courtyards and pools. It’s about 45 minutes from Dubai International Airport and less than an hour from Abu Dhabi Airport so it’s great for guests coming in from overseas. Arabian charm fills every corner of the resort and combined with modern comforts it’s ideal for any of your guests wishing to experience some Arabian hospitality with 5 star luxury. All of the 115 rooms are wonderfully spacious with a rustic earthy feel.
There are plenty of options for an outdoor ceremony and reception and no matter the style or size of your wedding you’ll find your perfect match. The Wedding team at Bab Al Shams can create a stunning setting nestled amongst the dunes at Sunset Point. The sunsets are simply mesmerizing and any wedding here will be a truly unique affair. Or if you’d prefer to have your celebration with a more green and luscious outlook there are a number of courtyards and terraces nestled amongst the palm trees. For a larger event the Garden Café is exceptional and can hold up 500 for a cocktail reception and 400 for a sit down dinner. It’s as spectacular by day as it is sparking by night!
If you’re after a more contemporary feel the Le Dune is a stylish enclave that can take up to 40 guests. It’s super secluded so just what you need for a completely private wedding. Masala roof top lounge is an other stunning open air venue with panoramic desert views. It’s ideal for a cocktail reception or rehearsal dinner and is spot on for those wedding photos. For a traditional Arabic wedding we’d recommend the exclusive use of Al Hadheerah. It has a stage, state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and the option for dedicated entertainment! Or totally embrace a genuine Emirati ambience in Al Sarab’s two-level rooftop lounge and majilis with space for up to 240 guests.
The Arabian theme continues inside with beautifully styled interiors. Terracotta pinks, browns, stone floors, colourful rugs, intricate carved shutters and furniture are enhanced by romantic lighting that give it an almost magical feel. The Falcon Room has all this authentic charm and is perfect for a small indoor reception. Wherever in the resort you choose have your wedding you’ll be in awe of the food! Their award winning chefs can create a bespoke menu to suit your exacting tastes.
