We’ve been so excited to hear about most awaited bridal show, Sposaitalia – Milan Bridal Week 2017! It’s one of the most important events, kept for invitees only, which includes the best bridal stockists, Italian and international brands, journalists and bloggers. We were lucky enough to team up with Diala Abu Issa from the renown Bridal Showroom to share what emerging trends & designers they saw at this year’s show.
1. Whose collections were you most looking forward to seeing at this Milan Bridal Fashion Week?
I have been wanting to go to Sposaitalia for 2 years now. I’ve heard great things about the show and Milan did not disappoint, it was just the right event to add to my list for 2018. I absolutely fell in love with Antoni Riva, Elisabetta Polignano and Peter Langner.
2. What top three trends have you spotted on the runway?
Italian designers are very proud of their craftsmanship, which they should be. Their gowns are all about the fabrics. Exquisite Italian Fabrics made from the highest quality materials and accessible price points. The designers did a fantastic job at with beading, texture and perfect fits.
I’m “bowing” down to the big statement trend of bows which were all over the Milan runways which I also saw in Barcelona and expecting to see at NYC. Larger than life bows stitched at angles you wouldn’t think about, made from the most gorgeous fabrics ranging from natural to very structural forms,
3. What were the highlights of the week?
It was very interesting to meet the designers in person and having enough time to get to know them on a personal basis. They have a very different takes on wedding dresses as opposed to the designers I currently carry in the store, which is exciting because that only means that 2018 at The Bridal Showroom will have new and fresh styles to compliment the popular styles we carry year on year
4. What has been your favourite show of the week?
Antonio Riva’s Fashion show. Each dress had the WOW factor yet they were all so different. He has definitely a collection that is very different from any designer I have seen so far.
5. What new or emerging brands have you got your eye on?
Maybe Antonio Riva so follow us on Instagram @thebridalshowoomdubai to find out
6. Any pieces we can expect to see in the TBS?
We are so happy to announce to you that we will be holding a new collection from Beirut-based designer Saiid Kobeisy whose dresses will be a favourite to many.
