Harsha and Jayesh’s Glamorous Real Wedding | Atlantis The Palm, Dubai

Bride and Groom: Harsha Pansari and Jayesh Deorah

Length of Engagement:  3 months

Wedding Date: 29th January 2019

Wedding Location: Atlantis The Palm, Dubai

 Photographer: Ram Bherwani

We met…

Jayesh and me were family friends. We knew each other since we were 10 years old, so it feels like I’ve known him forever!

Our proposal…

Though we were family friends, Jayesh and I wouldn’t talk to each other. We went to the same school and were in the same class and went for vacations together with our families yet we chose not to be friends! Jayesh went to USA for his further studies and I had gone to UK. It was only when we returned back to India we started talking and became friends! Gradually over time we started developing fondness for each other and on 10th October 2018, Jayesh proposed to me in the most beautiful way and of course my answer was “YES!”

We then told our parents we wanted to get married to each other their happiness knew no bounds!

My dress…

My wedding outfit was from Sabyasachi, and for my Bollywood night and yacht party I wore an outfit by Gaurav Gupta. For my international evening I wore Gauri and Nanika, and finally for our farewell lunch I wore an Anamika Khanna outfit.

My hair and make up…

Namrata Soni is one of the most popular Bollywood makeup artist in India and I am so glad I chose her as my makeup and hair artist. She has magic in her hands! She keeps it simple yet sophisticated, just what I wanted.

His suit…

Jayesh’s wedding outfit was from Rohit Bal, who had personally met us and customised the outfit for Jayesh. For other events he picked his outfits from Gaurav Gupta, Manish Malhotra and Giorgio Armani.

What our bridesmaid’s wore…

I have the best friends ever and they are crazy! For my yacht party (ring ceremony) all my friends wore pastel blue gown and they absolutely killed the look! They were all twinning and winning!

Our ceremony…

We had a couple of events for our wedding, as it was a four day event. On January 27th we had an international evening in which Prakriti Kakar and Sukriti Kakar performed, and we also a lot of performances from around the world which was followed by bachelors night for the youngsters.

On the afternoon of January 28th we had our ring ceremony, which was a yacht party in Dubai’s marina.

In the evening of January 28th we had a Bollywood night where a few of our family members and our friends performed for us, culminating in a performance by Bollywood singer Benny Dayal, which really set the tone for the rest of the evening!

On January 29th we had our haldi ceremony followed by myra function, followed by the much awaited wedding evening! We first had our Phera which was followed by our wedding reception.

We choose our wedding coordinators because…

Our wedding planners were Mickey Jain and Moksh. It was a collaborated effort by them. Mickey Jain had done my brother’s wedding in Thailand and since then we are fan of his work. He and his team leave no stone unturned to make the wedding nothing less than a dream.

We chose our venue because…

Dubai was absolutely a new wedding destination for all of us. People from Guwahati have a craze for destination wedding, hence we had attended a lot of weddings in different parts of India and Thailand. We wanted a completely new destination and so eventually settled on Dubai, and after a lot of research we were lucky enough to fix our wedding at the iconic Atlantis The Palm, Dubai. And I must say the cooperation from the hotel was 100 percent, our guests were blown away!

Our menu…

It was a combination of Indian food and food from around the world. We had different cuisines for different events of course, with Indian food being constant for all the events.

Our honeymoon…

Our honeymoon was a complete surprise package for me. Jayesh didn’t tell me anything about our honeymoon except the place we were traveling to. We went to Australia and New Zealand for our honeymoon and I don’t think Jayesh could have planned it better! It was the most beautiful time Jayesh and I had spent together.

My piece of advice for other brides…

Well, I only had three months to plan my wedding, and so for brides not having much time between the engagement and the wedding all I will suggest is don’t spend all your time in preparation. You need to be able to make quick decisions, don’t complicate your head with too many choices. You need to make time to pamper yourself and actually enjoy the experience. Have fun with your bridesmaids! Spend quality time with family, and rejoice in each and every moment!
