Our Story
We met…At college back in 2003 and have known each other for 14 years. It was a bit of a topsy -turvy courtship but love always prevails and Neville and I are blindly in love!
Our proposal… Neville proposed in the beautiful city of Bangkok, Thailand. We were doing a shoot at the train station and he popped the ring as well as the question. I was super surprised.
What we wore
My dress… I saw at least 20 or more shops before I decided on my dress. I picked it from a famous bridal shop in Sharjah – Bridal Bliss.
My hair and make up… This was done by Mahrose. She is a famous makeup artist who works with models for Miss India UAE in Dubai.
His suit… His tuxedo was from Kuchins.
What our bridal party wore… Our bridal entourage were in colours of tiffany blue and grey. The bridesmaids wore tiffany blues dresses and the groomsmen were in grey suits with tiffany blue bow ties. We also had the super hero theme for the socks and cufflinks of the groom and his groomsmen.
Our Wedding
Our wedding theme/colours… Our wedding theme was Tiffany blue.
Our ceremony and/or celebrant… Our beach ceremony was officiated by a close family friend Mr Melvin Pereira. We wanted none other than him to carry forward the proceedings of the ceremony since he knows us very well and plays an important role in our lives. Melvin did a great job with his first time as a celebrant
We chose our photographer because… We chose Imprint because we liked their work. I must say they are a vibrant and enthusiastic team. We loved every bit of working with them. Their team of photographers and videographers gelled in with the group just like family. I would definitely recommend them.
We chose our wedding co-ordinator because…We worked with Safiro Events because of their relentless efforts in making our big day a grand success. They left no stone unturned. The team was on their toes to get everything arranged as per we desired. Our wedding décor looked absolutely wonderful. Hats off to team Safiro!
The Venue – Ajman Hotel
We chose our venue because… We wanted a beach venue for our wedding. Ajman Hotel was the best among all the other resorts we checked. We definitely made the right choice in choosing Ajman Hotel. The team lead by Estela (Thea) Sobito the F&B Manager made our wedding preparation very smooth. It’s a great property for an outdoor wedding. The rooms are fabulous and all sea facing. They have a private beach and it’s lovely. Our guests enjoyed every bit of the resort. We would definitely go back for a weekend getaway. Finally the team at Ajman Hotel is absolutely hospitable. They made sure to help us with every aspect of our wedding.
Our menu… The top Chef at Ajman Hotel whipped up an extravagant menu. We loved the food and our guests still rave about it. They were plenty options to choose from along with a live cooking station as well. It was brilliant!
My favourite part of the wedding day… My favourite part of the wedding was the beach ceremony. We exchanged our personal vows on the beach as well as the symbolic sand ceremony that expresses the coming together of two people and two families into one new family. We also had our bridal entourage speak a few words about us; it was really fun. We ended the ceremony with letting out balloons in the air for a successful future.
Our honeymoon…We tucked away to the beautiful island of Maldives for our honeymoon. It’s the best destination to unwind after a nerve racking hectic wedding week.
My piece of advice for other brides…My piece of advice would be just enjoy your wedding day. Things may never go as planned on your big day, but just calm those nerves and enjoy every moment created. Make sure to get enough rest a week before the wedding, delegate work to family and friends. We enjoyed every bit of our wedding day and we do hope we can relive it.
Neville’s advice.… A happy wife is a happy life!
