Kim Kardashian & Kanye West – Steal Their Wedding Style

At a rumoured £7 million spend, you would want to be hard pushed to try and compete with Kim and Kanye in the nuptial department but that’s not to say you can’t channel a little bit of that fairytale, opulent style for your own day. Here’s how their day unfolded and how you can have your own little bit of Kimye at your wedding…

Wedding Date: May 24th 2014

Location: 16th Century Castle Forte di Belvedere, Florence, Italy

The Dress

It’s no secret Kim is a fan of Givenchy having sported the label on numerous occasions, most notably the 2013 Met Gala (remember that infamous floral dress!) so it wasn’t a huge surprise that she called upon friend Riccrdo Tisci to design her dream dress. The luscious lace Haute Couture creation complete with full length sleeves, sheer inset and show-stopping train showcased her notorious curves to perfection. And let’s not forget that dreamy full length silk, lace trimmed veil. The stuff of fairytales!

The Suits

Not that anyone really cared once they caught a glimpse of Kim, but the boys were dressed to impress in dashing, classic tuxedos.

The Bridesmaids

The Kardashian-Jenner bridal party looked chic in full length white numbers. But if you’d rather keep this shade all to yourself you could opt for dresses with a hint of colour such as Champagne or blush.

The Food

We love our cake as much as the next bride but a whopping $6,685 dollars on a Vanilla and Berry cake – wowser (sneak peek of it in shot below). The 7 foot, 7 tier white frosted creation with fruit layers was undoubtedly a thing of beauty but you’d want to be guaranteed a year-long sugar rush to part with that kind of cash. For their wedding menu, the couple opted for lots of classic Italian fare and plenty of it – think mouth-watering pasta dishes (that nobody dared touch) and the likes of monkfish and beef for those watching the calories.

The Décor

One of the most pinned, retweeted and regrammed pictures of the wedding has to be of the happy couple against a backdrop of white flowers (see above!) that must have taken some poor creature an age to sellotape/glue/nail to a wall. While this would cost a small fortune and a hefty plaster bill, you could easily add some whimsical appeal to your wedding with floral details whether it be a floral arch, a backdrop on a much smaller scale (for a photo booth for instance) or a petal strewn aisle.

The Details

There was a photo booth of that we are sure courtesy of a flurry of selfies flooding Instagram pretty much straight away. We too are a big fan of the photo booth – add some props and you’re on to a winner.
