What do you love most about being a wedding planner?
Since a very young age, I knew I wanted to work in a creative field, with people to make a difference & as corny as it may sound, I genuinely find joy in the art of bringing people together in beautifully decorated spaces that sparks joyful moments & inspires lasting memories.
Watching my couples love story unfold into a tangible magical day will leave me blissfully fulfilled but I’m also a hopeless romantic at heart & the most inspiring moment for me is to witness the exchange of your unconditional, unapologetic & heartfelt vows of love. You have been warned, I will be crying at your ceremony!
How do you work with engaged couples?
My approach to wedding planning revolves around the 3C’s which are the core values of my business – Collaborative, Creative & Calm. A wedding is such an intimate & personal affair that I feel extremely grateful to be trusted to support couples to curate & celebrate one of life’s greatest & magical moments.
My couples are at the core of everything I do & I share in their desire to curate meaningful celebrations that are true to their love story. The work that we will be doing together means the world to me which is why I value a genuine connection with my couples to form a mutual partnership built on shared values, trust, respect, open & honest communication.
I’m all in 100% by their side every step of the way, attentively listening & having their best interest at heart to mindfully guide them through the planning process. I act as their confidant while empowering them to make decisions that feels right for them, supporting in kindness. Part dreamer, part realist, I inspire them to think bigger & brighter, out-side of the cookie cutter, traditional checkbox while also keeping them grounded & focused to bring their vision to life in a way that is meaningful & emotionally connected to them.
I aim to create a seamless experience for all my couples, giving them the space to be fully present with their loved ones, to celebrate in a day of lasting romance & friendship. For this reason, I accept a limited number of intimate weddings each year, so I can be mentally, physically & creatively charged – ready to serve them with my whole heart.
What should couples consider when setting their wedding budget?
Money is a sensitive subject & setting a wedding budget is probably the most daunting task, but it’s an important step to cross off your list early in the wedding planning process. I always advise couples to schedule some quiet time together & set the scene for a romantic date night in with a charcuterie board, nice bottle of vino, a romantic playlist, and some candles.
Take this time to just get lost in daydreams, talking about the life you are creating together & visualising your ideal celebration – who are you surrounded by, the scenery, the ambiance, what are your must-haves & most important elements you want to incorporate to create a celebration that is both meaningful & authentic to your love, what experiences do you want your guests to have & what memories do you want to create.
Once you have a clear idea of your wedding day vision, it’s time to figure out exactly how much you and your partner are willing to spend. Set a realistic number that you both feel comfortable to spend taking into consideration your personal finances & long-term goals not the other way around.
After you’ve established a budget that feels right for you, determine your guest count as this will be your greatest impact on your budget. It will determine your venue size, and your catering budget as you’ll have to pay for food & beverage per person. Pro Tip: Determine the number of guests by the amount you’re willing to spend per head and not the other way around.
Last but not least, research, research & research some more! And I don’t mean consult your friend who got married 2-years ago as a lot has changed since then. There is a pool of vendors & as overwhelming as it may sound, it also means that there is a vendor for every budget. Narrow down the ones that are most aligned with your vision & ask as many questions as possible to help you allocate the right costing.
There are many creative ways to save money on your wedding without having to compromise your overall vision, sometimes all you need is a sprinkle of imagination & researching all the possible options. And remember, as much as you’re on top of your game, when it comes to wedding planning, unexpected things may come up. Always leave a little wiggle room to accommodate for unforeseen cost.
What tips would you give to couples planning their wedding?
Communicate, communicate & communicate some more…Communication is my mantra, but it took me years to fully grasp the beauty in communicating open-mindedly, honestly, transparently, and most important communicating gently.
Planning a wedding in general is overwhelming, let alone, planning a wedding while having a full-time job, juggling social life & managing family expectations etc… Emotions tend to run a little higher than normal. If you find yourselves feeling overwhelmed or disagreeing, it’s ok to call for a ‘time out’ and just take some time to process your thoughts. And when you re-address the subject, remember to thread gracefully, listen with compassion, and find solutions together to overcome any arising obstacles.
Prioritize self-care & self-love but also make time to celebrate together! “You can’t pour from an empty cup”, I’m sure you have this quote pinned on your Pinterest board or phone! My planning process is divided into joyful bite-size chunks to allow my couples time & space to take a breather! Yes, you’re planning one of the most special days of your life, but you are also entering a new chapter of your love story. May this be a little reminder to check-in with yourself & with your partner.
Ground yourselves in this present moment, taking as much time throughout to do more of the little things that brings you joy & it is as important to make time for each other to celebrate the life you have created & what is to come.

After you’ve reviewed all the information, I’ll invite you for a non-obligatory discovery session which can be either in person or via virtual call over a cup of tea/coffee or a glass of grape; cause it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere!
