We’re still raving about the style at this year’s Golden Globes and found so much inspiration for brides-to-be. Between the sumptuous silhouettes, swoon-worthy cuts and healthy dose of sparkle, there is lots to take heed of when it comes to thinking about your own dream wedding dress. Some of these dresses would look as at home on an aisle as they do on the red carpet so with this in mind, we rounded up some of our favourites that would make for gorgeous wedding inspiration, whether it be for you or your bridesmaids.
As we mentioned before, some big bridal trends for the year ahead include plunging necklines and serious embellishment (check out Sienna’s divine Miu Miu creation which ticks both boxes and is made for walking down the aisle in) and the red carpet was no different. Sparkle featured heavily on the bridal runways and there was plenty to be seen at Sunday’s Golden Globes too. Many a celeb donned something glitzy for the occasion with everything from a hint of embellishment like Anna Kendrick’s princess inspired Monique Lhuillier gown to full-on glamour in the form of Dakota Johnson’s dazzling silver sequinned gown. Reece Witherspoon and Diane Kruger also sported glittery silver numbers – gorgeous inspiration for brides after an alternative to white or ivory for their wedding celebration (or something sparkly and fun to don after dinner – although you might want to skip dessert in some of these slinky numbers or have the Spanx on standby).
J Lo’s cape gown is also bang on trend bridal-wise as cover-ups promise to be big news for brides in winter 2015. While capes in the bridal world tend to be about keeping brides that little bit more snug in cooler climates – obviously the cut-outs on this one defeat that purpose, but we love it all the same and think the sparkly edge would be no doubt welcomed by many a bride. We’re also head over heels in love with Chrissy Teigen’s long sleeved sheer lace Zuhair Murad gown, which is perfect for brides looking for a daring dress with sleeves. Of course, if you don’t mind your maids shining bright on the Big Day, some of these glitzy numbers would work a treat for your ladies too and don’t forget embellished dresses and lots of sparkle are tipped to be a big hit with maids for 2015, particularly come winter time!
