Introducing Jin Flora | The hottest new Wedding Singer in town!

We’re so excited to introduce you to Jin Flora, the hottest new wedding singer in the UAE. She’s had rave reviews, wowing us all with her amazing vocals and varied repertoire. Jin’s incredible talent propelled her to the blind auditions on the UK’s The Voice (out of 30,000 applicants) where she sang for Tom Jones and Jessie J! But luckily for us she moved to Dubai and is now signed to one of its top music agencies. Let’s catch up with Jin…..I think you’re going to love her!

How did you get into wedding singing? Anyone who knows me knows I love to sing. It’s been a part of who I am since I was around 7-8 years old so all my closest friends and family would say when we grow up I have to sing at their weddings and I did! It was such an honour.

What do you enjoy most about wedding singing? Weddings are the perfect gig for me as they are full of emotion and happiness. My wedding day meant so much to me and to sing at someone else’s is a very precious way to make a living. I am lucky enough to get a glimpse into the world of two lovers and experience it first hand from the side lines. Not everyone is so lucky to find a soul mate and I truly believe love has set me free. I also enjoy not always being the centre of attention as all eyes are on the couple! It’s beautiful to provide a soundtrack to the start of a union of two people in love, full of hope and passion. Moments like this are priceless and I’m still in touch with most of my brides.

What are your top 3 songs to sing at a reception? Endless Love – Mariah Carey, All of Me – John Legend and Thinking out loud – Ed Sheeran.

What is the current trend with wedding music? I think this depends mainly on the couple and also what the singer can offer. At all of my wedding events I have sung classic love songs, big diva ballads as well as some modern love songs.

What’s the most unusual first dance song you have been asked to perform? I’ve never had an unusual first song but I have had a couple who loved only 90’s music and requested that for the entire day.

What tips would you offer a bride when choosing their wedding singer? It is key to choose someone that fits their vision for their wedding day. Also someone that will take the time to make sure they are happy in terms of what style and genre of music they like.

With the proliferation of streaming there’s been a spike in the sheer number of songs available to couples, how would you help them create a playlist? I would usually meet the couple to discuss what I can offer and supply them a tailored set list of their requirements as well as informing them what has worked well at my previous wedding events. I would usually allow up to 5 additional song selections plus the first dance and depending on flow of events advise whether 3 shorter sets or two longer ones would work best around a DJ, dinner and speeches.
